Eco-Hive’s aim is to grow a community or hive of like minded individuals with the aim of forming a centre for knowledge.  As Eco-Hive develops we hope that we can firstly form an online community that tackles issues for other hive members lending expertise, experience and knowledge allowing individuals to make changes to their environment that will make them more self sufficient and aid sustainability.

We hope that this will aid us in our Quest, to design, develop and deliver a village in the southwest of England that is built on principles of sustainability, affordability and independence.  We then want to use this as an adapable template to propagate other villages in the UK and then other countries across the globe. We want to be able to run training days and have workshops on the methods and skills that we have learnt as well as have homes that people can visit and experience life in an Eco-Hive development for themselves, in a hope to dispel the myth that an independent community must be a commune.

We are not hippies but ordinary people who believe that there must be a ‘better’ way.

The Eco-Hive Quest is to provide a community that in just living it’s participants make a difference. Where the mere existence of the community makes a positive contribution to the environment.

We want to provide a place where positive thinking and action leads to change, and in turn, this change leads to a better quality of life for all those who embrace it.
